NOJHL announces  Eastlink TV 3 Stars of the Week

SUDBURY – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League announced Monday that the Rayside-Balfour Canadians trio of Ryan Erickson, Otis Goldman and Bradley Chenier, who combined for a whopping 41 points in three victories, have been named the Eastlink TV 3 Stars of the week, for the period ending Nov. 29.

RYAN ERICKSON, (F) RAYSIDE-BALFOUR CANADIANS – Erickson began his offensive onslaught last Monday in Powassan by notching a hat trick, which included the game-winning goal, and added two assists in a 9-6 triumph over the Voodoos.

Saturday night the 20-year-old Sudbury product notched his second straight three-tally night and set-up four others as the Canadians won another high-scoring affair, by an 8-7 count, over Kirkland Lake at Chelmsford Arena.

Erickson then capped off his week with a pair of helpers in a 6-1 decision on home ice vs. Espanola Sunday.

Riding a five-game point streak, the Rayside-Balfour forward has stormed up all the way to second spot in the NOJHL scoring race with 48 points on 19 goals and 29 assists.

His four game-winning markers tie him for third overall in the league in that category.

OTIS GOLDMAN, (F) RAYSIDE-BALFOUR CANADIANS – To say Goldman has achieved mightily since joining the Canadians is a bit of an understatement.

The 20-year-old from Vancouver, B.C., continued his torrid offensive pace last week tacking on 14 points giving him 27 in total in 10 contests for Rayside-Balfour.

Goldman started his week by doling out four assists in the road victory at Powassan on Nov. 23.

He then tallied once and dished out six helpers in the 8-7 win over the Gold Miners before scoring three times, which included the game-winner in the Canadians triumph over the Express Sunday.

Despite early in his tenure with Rayside-Balfour he has already moved up to fourth in team offensive production and has points in nine of his first 10 games, including getting on the score sheet in five consecutive outings.

The Canadians have also gone 9-1 since his arrival in Chelmsford.

BRADLEY CHENIER, (F) RAYSIDE-BALFOUR CANADIANS – The 16-year-old rookie forward continues to impress in his first year in the league.

Chenier totalled 13 points last week on six goals and seven assists and currently leads all NOJHL rookies in scoring with 37 points, including 15 tallies.

The Val Caron, Ont., product started his week by notching a pair of markers and dishing out four helpers in the decision over the Voodoos last Monday.

Saturday night he had the game-winner as part of a four-goal, three-assist performance in the home win against Kirkland Lake before setting up another in Sunday’s effort vs. Espanola.
