Bobcats bounce Beavers 6-3

BLIND RIVER – The Elliot Lake Bobcats got a goal and two assists apiece from Brad Holman and Aviv Milner to help lead them to a 6-3 victory over the host Blind River Beavers Sunday evening in one of three Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League games on the schedule.

Elliot Lake jumped out to a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes on tallies by Torrin Grange and Milner.

The visitors ran the cushion to 4-0 in the middle session on efforts supplied by Dylan Sakatch and Holman before Blind River got on the board late in the frame thanks to a power play marker by Zac Nadeau.

Two quick strikes early in the third put the Bobcats in full control as Dustin Cordeiro and Jarred Walker added goals before the Beavers finished off the night’s scoring with Trevor Simonick and Jake Zarzycki getting on the score sheet.

Matt Young made 19 saves to record the win for the Bobcats who blasted 66 shots on Blind River netminder Dylan Knox.
