Gold Miners – Trappers quarter-final schedule released

SUDBURY – – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League announced today the game schedule for the first round playoff series between the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners and the North Bay Trappers has been confirmed.

As the No. 2 seed in the postseason, each of the Gold Miners home games will be staged at the Joe Mavrinac Community Complex and will feature a 7:30 p.m. start.

The No. 7 Trappers meanwhile will play out of Mike Rodden Arena in nearby Mattawa for the playoffs with each contest slated to get underway there at 7 p.m.

This best-of-seven affair will commence March 14-15 in Kirkland Lake with games 1 and 2 before shifting to Mattawa for games 3 and 4 March 17-18.

Game 5, if necessary, will feature the Gold Miners back on home ice on March 21 at The Joe.

Should it be required, game 6 will be hosted the following evening, March 22, at Rodden Arena in Mattawa.

If the series goes the distance, game 7 is set for Monday, March 24 in Kirkland Lake.

The remaining two first round quarter-final playoff series schedules between Espanola and Sudbury along with Abitibi and Elliot Lake will be released once they are finalized.
