Harris the hero as Crunch clip Eskis in OT

COCHRANE, Ont. – Darrian Harris’ second goal of the game two and a half minutes in overtime was the difference as the Cochrane Crunch slipped past the Iroquois Falls Eskis 3-2 Friday evening in Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League action at Tim Horton Event Centre.

First period play saw each side score once with Braeden Cross collecting his 29th of the season at 1:44 for Cochrane while an Alex Mitsionis man advantage marker 11 minutes later tied it for Iroquois Falls.

Up a man again in the second, the Eskis took the lead with the lone tally of middle session as Josh Dejulio scored on the power play at 14:38.

The Crunch tied things up just past the seven-minute mark of the third thanks to Harris.

Heading into extra time, the Crunch successfully handled an Iroquois Falls power play, then with the two teams skating four aside Harris won it with his second of the night and 11th overall to give his club the win.

Brandon McReynolds aided in the Cochrane triumph with two assists.

Leighton Williams made 25 saves to record the win for the Crunch while Artem Bortovskiy turned in a solid 56-stop performance to help Iroquois Falls earn a point.
