NOJHL’s NCAA commitment list continues to grow
SUDBURY, Ont. – Continuing to produce results by having its players advance to the next level, the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League commitment list to NCAA programs is ever-growing.
Two more NOJHLers earned to the opportunity to play college hockey in the U.S. over the past few days as Brandon Wolfe of Kirkland Lake Gold Miners and Reed Gregory of the Soo Eagles both secured NCAA D-III commitments.
Wolfe will be off to Salem State in Massachusetts while Gregory will be heading to Lawrence University in Wisconsin.
Skating in all 54 games during the course of the regular season for Gold Miners, Wolfe produced 44 points on 16 goals and 28 assists at forward.
The 20-year-old Granger, Ind., native also added another dozen points in league playoff action, including four tallies.
Wolfe will be joining a Salem State Vikings program that finished first in the seven-school Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference in 2015-16.
As for Gregory, he saw action in 37 games for the Eagles and scored 17 times and helped set-up 13 others.
In the playoffs, the now 21-year-old forward shared the team lead in scoring with 11 points in six games as he scored three times and doled out eight assists.
The Franktown, Colo., product played a total of 94 career games in the NOJHL notching 30 markers while supplying 27 helpers along the way.
Situated in Appleton, Wis., the Lawrence Vikings are members of the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association.
In 2015-16 the men’s hockey team finished tied for fifth in the 11-school NCHA standings.
