ESPANOLA, Ont. – The Blind River Beavers got goals from four different skaters to help them defeat the Espanola Express 4-1 in Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League action Friday at the Regional Recreation Complex.

First period play saw the Beavers notch the lone marker of the session when Justin Mauro collected his 13th tally of the campaign at 6:49.

Blind River extended their lead with a pair of second stanza markers off the sticks of Caleb Serre and David Campbell.

The goal for Serre was his league-leading 34th of the season and 77th point.

He then helped set-up Campbell, which saw Serre register his eighth multi-point performance in a row and extend a consecutive game point streak to 10.

In the final frame, Joel Martin extended the visitors cushion at 14:17.

Espanola did dash Dominic Boily’s shutout bid against his former club with less than two minutes to play compliments of Brennen Martel.

Boily did finish with 30 stops to record the win while Wildcats starter Carson Boutin faced 44 attempts in defeat.
