Blind River beats Elliot Lake in OT

BLIND RIVER, Ont. – A Lucas Adams goal 70 seconds into overtime was the difference as the Blind River Beavers defeated the Elliot Lake Wildcats 4-3 Thursday in Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League preseason play at the Blind River Community Centre.

First period action saw Elliot Lake collect the lone tally of the session as Robert Carr connected on the power play at 8:20.

The clubs opened up in the second stanza by scoring twice each with Caleb Serre and Jack Tos contributing for the Beavers while Nick Jameus and Jayden Parnell answered for the Wildcats.

Moving on to the third, Blind River battled back to force extra time on another Serre marker, which came via the man advantage, with six minutes remaining in regulation.

Heading to OT, Adams potted the winner for the home side to secure the victory.

Wyatt Courshane and Charles Lepage split time in net for Blind River in the triumph while Dominic Boily went the distance between the pipes for Elliot Lake.
