GALLERY: Blind River collects road win in Espanola

ESPANOLA, Ont. – The Blind River Beavers used a well-balanced offensive attack, getting goals from eight different skaters to help propel them to an 8-3 win over the Espanola Express in a Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League meeting Friday at the Regional Recreation Complex.

After being shutout last night, Blind River wasn’t about to let it happen again as they connected four times before the game was 14 minutes into it on goals from Nathan Balkwill, Caleb Serre, Kyle Quin and Andrew Malek.

Espanola did get one back before the first frame was completed as Bradley Brunet buried his eighth of the season at 14:14.

The Beavers then went up 5-1 early in the second when Conrad Solypa registered his first NOJHL goal at 1:51.

Coming right back, Blind River provided one more off the stick Tyler Nott to extend the visitors cushion.

Continuing to click offensively, Noah Minns added to the offensive onslaught at 7:45.

The Express answered less than a minute later off the stick of Camilo Rodrique-Melo.

Third period play saw the two team traded tallies with Jake Behnen connecting foe the Beavers while Zachary Matyasik countered for the Express to round out the scoring.

Dominic Boily made 32 saves to record the decision for Blind River.

Joel Rainville started for Espanola and suffered the defeat, giving up five on 14 chances while Carson Boutin handled 18 of 21 in just over 38 minutes of relief.
