SUDBURY, Ont. – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League has announced a partnership with the Dairy Farmers of Ontario for a Bursary Program, which will see one deserving player from the 2025-26 NOJHL season awarded $2,500 to go towards their post-secondary education.
Among the criteria for the bursary is their outstanding commitment to:
• Community service: contributing to the wellbeing of local communities through volunteer work and extracurricular activities.
• Athletics: demonstrating strong performance and growth in junior hockey, along with a passion for the game and sporting community.
• Academics: showing dedication to school, achieving strong grades and being a leader in school activities.
“We at the NOJHL commend the Dairy Farmers of Ontario for their commitment to this program,” offered league commissioner Robert Mazzuca.
“A dedication to academics, while still competing at the Jr. A hockey level is certainly an arduous task. This bursary will certainly benefit the recipient with assistance in off setting some of the costs associated with their post-secondary education,” Mazzuca added.

We are committed to encouraging academic excellence, community involvement and athletic achievement, and to helping create opportunities for players across Northern Ontario as they pursue their post‑secondary ambitions.”
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for the NOJHL – Dairy Farmers of Ontario Bursary Program, the following is required:
• Applications can only be submitted by or for current active players registered and competing in the NOJHL.
• Player will be attending a post-secondary institution in Ontario during the 2026-27 school year.
• Maintain a high standard of academic excellence.
• Active in their local community in community sport or social programs.

Once completed, kindly submit to NOJHL Commissioner Robert Mazzuca, VIA EMAIL, before 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2026.
Each application will be reviewed by a panel, with only the successful recipient being contacted by the NOJHL.

About the NOJHL
Established in 1962, the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL) is a Hockey Canada-sanctioned Junior A hockey league and member of the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL).
There are currently 11 active member teams competing in the NOJHL during the 2025-26 season.
The winner of the NOJHL Copeland Cup – McNamara Trophy playoffs moves on to represent the league in competing for the Centennial Cup, presented by Tim Hortons, National Junior A Championship.
Named NOJHL commissioner back in 2011, Robert Mazzuca remains in that role to this day and is the longest-serving commissioner in league history.
Mr. Mazzuca also currently holds the title of CJHL Chair of Board, a position he has held since 2021.
