SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. – The Soo Eagles of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League have announced that defenceman Lane Janssen has committed to NCAA Division III program, Marian University, in Fond du Lac, Wis.
Wrapping up his Jr. A career with the Eagles, the 2003-born Janssen spent the past two seasons bolstering the club’s back-end.
Along the way, the Chesterfield, Mich., product accumulated 51 points in 93 outings for the Soo, notching four goals and dishing out 47 assists.
Seven of his 20 helpers in the 2023-24 campaign came on the power play, which placed Janssen second on the squad in that department.
In heading to the NCAA D-III ranks at Marian, the Eagles’ rearguard will skate for the Sabres, who compete out of the 10-school Northern Collegiate Hockey Association.
