CHELMSFORD, Ont. – A Lukas Lyszyk power play marker 59 seconds into overtime helped the Espanola Express complete a 5-4 come from behind victory over the Rayside-Balfour Canadians in Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League action Sunday night at Chelmsford Arena.

Espanola also opened the night’s scoring seven minutes into the contest as Lyszyk collected his first of the night and 15th of the season.

Rayside-Balfour drew level though midway through the first as Ethan Lavallee connected on a man advantage opportunity.

The Canadians then took the lead early in the middle session on a Alexander Fowke effort before Diego Pasula tied it during a power play chance half way through the contest.

However, the home side tacked on two more before the period was complete off the sticks of Kyle Liinamaa and affiliate Nicholas Faught who tallied in his NOJHL debut.

Action in the third saw Espanola inch their way closer with 12:08 remaining in regulation on Joshua Ernst’s initial league marker.

The Express kept coming and were rewarded with the equalizer in the final minute of regulation as Matthew Reynolds provided the tying tally at 19:32.

Heading to OT, and with a man advantage that carried over, Espanola completed the comeback with Lyszyk putting in the game-winner.

Matais Salem doled out three assists to aid the Espanola cause.

Joel Rainville made 30 saves to record the win for the Express while Sebastien Plamondon faced 29 shots in defeat for the Canadians who did pick up a point in the setback.
