French River Rapids set to join NOJHL

SUDBURY –  The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League has announced the its board of governors have unanimously approved the addition of the French River Rapids to the NOJHL in time for the 2015-16 season.

The club will be based out of Noelville, Ont., and will play out of the Noelville Arena.

Heading up the club as head coach and general manager will be former National Hockey League defenceman Moe Mantha.

“Under the leadership of team president Allan Donnan as well as head coach and GM Moe Mantha and their team staff and the community of Noelville and surrounding area, the signs are already there that French River will make a quick and positive impression in the NOJHL right off the bat,” stated league commissioner Robert Mazzuca.

The addition of French River brings the NOJHL to 12 teams for the upcoming 2015-16 campaign.

“Its an exciting time for the NOJHL as we move forward,” siad Mazzuca.

“The commitment and support given by all our member clubs, our communities, fans and corporate partners bodes well for the future,” added the NOJHL commissioner.
