HEARST, Ont. – Brady Harroun’s second power play goal of the night, coming with 4:44 remaining, was the difference as the Timmins Rock skated to a 3-2 victory versus the Hearst Lumberjacks Friday night in Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League action in front of big crowd at Claude Larose Recreation Centre.

Following a scoreless opening 20 minutes, Timmins connected quickly into a man advantage as Nicolas Pigeon set-up Harroun in the right circle where he unleashed a one-time blast that soared past Hearst netminder Ethan Dinsdale at 6:30.

Going up by a pair later in the session, the Rock controlled a faceoff and saw Harroun power his way around the net then put the puck in front where Pigeon swooped in and lifted one over the glove of Dinsdale.

Hearst countered early in the third to cut into the deficit as Benjamin Thornley-Hall led a rush into the Timmins zone where he put a pass across to Emile Pichette, who fired one by Rock goaltender Patrick Boivin at 2:07.

The marker for Pichette gives him goals in three straight and points in eight in a row.

Up a skater midway through the frame, the Lumberjacks drew level when Tyler Bortkiewicz held off on a quick attempt before reloading and firing a shot by Boivin from the right circle.

Timmins came back to get the eventual game-winner from Harroun as he blasted in his second of the evening and NOJHL-leading 35th of the season with a rapid release from above the right circle.

Hearst got Dinsdale out late an extra attacker, but the Rock held firm defensively to pick up the away triumph.

With the outcome, Timmins improved to 35-6-3-2 on the year while the Lumberjacks fell to 31-11-2-0 overall.
