Hector Seguin honoured by West Nipissing Sports Hall of Fame

SUDBURY –  The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League would like to congratulate former Commissioner and current NOJHL Administration Officer Hector Seguin on his recent induction into the West Nipissing Sports Hall of Fame.

Seguin was inducted into the WNSHF in the builders category being recognized for his 40-plus years involvement in hockey from a player, coach, administrator, founder, director of operations, commissioner and as a president.

In 1994 he started his involvement with the NOJHL, which still continues today.

First serving as an assistant manager with the Sturgeon Falls Lynx, Seguin later became a NOJHL board member representing the North Bay Sky Hawks.

During the 2006-07 season he was appointed chief of hockey operations and treasurer of the league.

He also served as NOJHL Commissioner from 2007 to 2011 as well as secretary and treasurer.

Seguin also served as a director on the board of the Canadian Junior Hockey League.

“We at the NOJHL would like to extend our heartiest congratulations on Hector’s induction into the West Nipissing Sports Hall of Fame,” offered league commissioner Robert Mazzuca.

“There is no more deserving individual of such an honour and to be recognized for his tireless efforts over the past four decades to the game, West Nipissing and Northern Ontario,” added Mazzuca.
