IROQUOIS FALLS, Ont. – Pulling off another comeback victory, the Iroquois Falls Storm rebounded to edge the Blind River Beavers 4-3 Sunday in a Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League matinee at Jus Jordan Arena.

An evenly played opening 20 minutes saw the starting goaltenders do their part as the Beavers’ Mason Janicki and Justin Sullivan of the Storm kept it scoreless.

In the second stanza, Blind River broke the goose egg early when Ryder Hill put a pass back to Leighton Hurst at the left point who sent a wrister through a screen and in for his first career NOJHL goal.

Notching another while on a five-on-three, Camden Cowan put the visitors further ahead as he dangled in the Iroquois Falls end and buried a short-side snapshot into the top left corner on Sullivan.

Supplying his third power play marker in two games, Benjamin Coupal put the home side in the board off an end-to-end rush that saw him go to the net and jam one past Janicki at 7:05.

Getting that back a few minutes later, Cowan collected his second extra-man effort of the period by pumping another one upstairs, high glove side.

A night after coming back to clip the Soo Eagles, the hosts inched closer 9:13 into the third, when the Storm’s Coupal clicked at even strength as he lifted in a backhand off a rebound into an open net.

Pulling even just as a man advantage they were on was about to expire, Alexandre St. Pierre tied it with five minutes remaining when he steered in a low blast from Bruce Grey.

A favourable bounce then allowed Iroquois Falls to take the lead at 16:03 after Lucas Peever was driving hard to the net and saw the puck inadvertently knocked in by a defender, that proved to be the winning goal.

Blind River got Janicki out for an extra skater in the late going, but the Storm held the fort to collect their second-straight come from behind victory.
