Kirkland Lake – Powassan semifinal schedule finalized
SUDBURY – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League announced Tuesday that the dates have now been finalized for the East Division semifinal between the No. 1 seed, Kirkland Lake Gold Miners and the No. 4 Powassan Voodoos.
Powassan punched their ticket to the next round after completing a two-game sweep of the Mattawa Blackhawks in the league’s lone quarter-final playoff match-up with a 6-1 victory Tuesday evening.
The Gold Miners and Voodoos will commence their best-of-seven set Saturday evening in Kirkland Lake at the Joe Mavrinac Community Complex at 7:30 p.m.
Game 2 will go Sunday at 7:30 p.m. back in Kirkland Lake.
The series will then shift to the Powassan Sportsplex for Games 3 & 4 March 17-18 at 7 p.m.
The Gold Miners will serve as the home team for Game 5, if required, on March 20 at The Joe beginning at 7:30 p.m.
The Voodoos would host a sixth contest in the series should it be needed. It is slated for March 22 at 7:30 p.m. at the Sportsplex.
Should a Game 7 be necessary, it will be held in Kirkland Lake on March 24 at 7:30 p.m.
