NOJHL announces appointment of Chris May as Technical & Educational Director

SUDBURY – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League announced today the appointment of Chris May to the newly formed position of Technical & Educational Director effective immediately.

May is certainly no stranger to the NOJHL having recently retired after years of dedicated service to the region with the Northern Ontario Hockey Association as their Executive Director.

Among the responsibilities in his new role with the NOJHL May will assist in the coordination and administration of development programs and materials within the NOJHL such as prospect camps, officials, trainers and off-ice officials.

He will also aid in coordinating NOJHL educational programs and materials for post-secondary education within colleges, the CIS and the NCAA.

NOJHL Commissioner Robert Mazzuca is extremely pleased in adding the former NOHA executive to the league, who brings a wide-range of qualifications to his post.

“The NOJHL is extremely fortunate to have Chris join us in his capacity as Technical and Educational Director,” stated Mazzuca.

“He is one of the most highly regarded and well versed hockey people in the country and with all his experience and knowledge of the game as the retired NOHA Executive Director, he is an invaluable resource,” added the Commissioner.

For his part, May too is looking forward to his new position in working with the NOJHL.

“It is a great honour to be able to be part of the NOJHL as my start in hockey was at the junior level with the Oshawa Jr. B team,” says May.

“I have always been interested in junior hockey and wish to help the league executive continue to make the NOJHL a great place to play for all players who wish to follow their dreams.”
