NOJHL announces Cubs – Thunderbirds series schedule

SUDBURY, Ont. – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League announced Monday the schedule for its West Division final between the Greater Sudbury Cubs and Soo Thunderbirds.

This best-of-seven affair will commence Thursday with a 7:05 p.m. start at Gerry McCrory Countryside Sports Complex in Sudbury.

The Cubs will also host Game 2, which goes Friday at 7:05 p.m., back at GMCSC.

From there, the series shifts to John Rhodes Community Centre in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., for the next two meetings, that are set for Monday, April 10 and Tuesday, April 11 at 7 p.m.

Should a fifth contest be required, it will be held in Sudbury on Thursday, April 13 at 7:05 p.m.

If the match-up goes six, the Thunderbirds will have home ice on Saturday, April 15, with the opening face-off slated for 7 p.m. at JRCC.

A Game 7, if needed, would be held at Gerry McCrory Countryside Sports Complex on Tuesday, April 18 at 7:05 p.m.

The NOJHL West winner will advance to take on either the Timmins Rock or Powassan Voodoos for the league championship.
