SUDBURY, Ont. – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League announced Monday that forwards Dharan Cap (Soo Thunderbirds) and Ethan Pool (Timmins Rock), along with defenceman Kaden Dundas (Soo Thunderbirds), have been named its Eastlink TV 3 Stars of the Week for the period ending April 16.
DHARAN CAP, (F) SOO THNDERBIRDS – Stepping up offensively to help send the Thunderbirds back to the NOJHL final, the veteran 20-year-old forward picked up four points last week.
In all, Cap scored once and dished out three assists, including one on the overtime game-winner in Game 4 in their series against Greater Sudbury.
Heading into the league championship series versus Timmins, he shares the NOJHL playoff scoring lead with 15 points and tops all skaters in tallies with eight.
ETHAN POOL, (F) TIMMINS ROCK – Returning to the Rock line-up in their postseason match-up with Powassan, Pool was clutch in each of them.
The 20-year-old, who hails from St. Albert, Alta., scored in all four of the contests against the Voodoos.
Featured in that was the series-clinching marker, deep into the third period, in the fourth and final game to aid in sending Timmins to the NOJHL final.
KADEN DUNDAS, (D) SOO THUNDERBIRDS – A solid contributor at both ends of the ice, Dundas averaged a point-per-game in the last three outings vs. Greater Sudbury to help secure the series win.
The 19-year-old blueliner had an assist on the game-winner against the Cubs to wrap-up the West Division crown and send Sault Ste. Marie to the league final for a second straight year.
His 10 total points, in as many games, sees Dundas pace the Thunderbirds’ D-corps offensively as he sits tied for second in playoff scoring among all NOJHL defencemen.
