NOJHL announces pre-season schedule

SUDBURY, Ont. – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL) announced Wednesday its current list of preseason games, heading into the 2025-26 campaign.

Among the contests on the docket sees both the Powassan Voodoos and Timmins Rock slated to compete in the Terry Geddes Cottage Cup, Aug. 26-28, in Collingwood, Ont.

That five-team event, which features two-period match-ups, has the Voodoos and Rock going up against the Newmarket Hurricanes and host Collingwood Blues of the Ontario Junior Hockey League as well as German side Jungadler Mannheim.

The Hearst Lumberjacks presently have four exhibition outings on their slate.

They’ll take on the Iroquois Falls Storm in a home-and-home set and will also meet the defending Superior International Junior Hockey League Bill Salonen Cup champion Kam River Fighting Walleye, September 5-7, at Claude Larose Recreation Centre.

Meanwhile, the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners have two games scheduled. They’ll go up against the King Rebellion (OJHL) on the road Aug. 23 and Powassan Sept. 6, which is a neutral site affair at Don Shepardson Memorial Arena in New Liskeard.
