NOJHL names its Eastlink TV 3 Stars of the Week

SUDBURY, Ont. – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League announced Monday that Timmins Rock forward Josh Dickson, Soo Thunderbirds’ defenceman Cameron Dutkiewicz along with Cochrane Crunch forward Ryan Hunter have been named its Eastlink TV 3 Stars of the Week for the period ending March 14.

JOSH DICKSON, (F) TIMMINS ROCK – Piling up seven points in a trio of road match-ups during the time frame, Dickson’s efforts helped him continue his solid play on the year.

A pair of markers and five assists saw the 18-year-old from Port Perry, Ont., extend a point streak to five games in a row.

Of note, Dickson has only been held off the game sheet once in 15 outings on the campaign where he has amassed 23 points on nine goals and 14 assists. His totals ties him for third among all NOJHLers this season.

A veteran of 122 league contests, his next tally will be his 50th overall to go along with the 62 assists he has accumulated to date.

CAMERON DUTKIEWICZ, (D) SOO THUNDERBIRDS – In his club’s lone game of the week, the 19-year-old Timmins product notched and pair of power play goals and dished out a couple of assists, including one on the game-winner, in a Thunderbirds home ice triumph over Blind River Sunday.

In 15 outings this season, the rookie blueliner paces all NOJHL defencemen in goals with seven and is knotted for third in total points with a dozen.

With a total of five man advantage markers to his credit, Dutkiewicz also leads all league rearguards in that category and sits just one off the overall lead among all skaters.

RYAN HUNTER, (F) COCHRANE CRUNCH – Doing his part offensively in a three-game set against the Rock over the weekend, Hunter had goals and points in each of them.

Hailing from Toronto, he scored four times and helped set-up three others, giving him a career-best 10 tallies and as many assists in 14 games so far this season. Hunter also has found the back of the net in each of his previous four outings.

His contributions have him tied for the Cochrane lead in offensive production with teammate Tyson Moore. The duo is also tied for sixth in league numbers with 20 points apiece.
