NOJHL names its Eastlink TV 3 Stars of the Week

SUDBURY, Ont. – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League announced Monday that the forward trio of Alexander Bradshaw (Powassan Voodoos); Chase Lefebvre (French River Rapids) and Kyler Campbell (Greater-Sudbury Cubs) have been named its Eastlink TV 3 Stars of the Week for the period ending Oct. 31.

ALEXANDER BRADSHAW, (F) POWASSAN VOODOOS – The 17-year-old from Ajax, Ont., piled up six points over the time frame helping Powassan win both of their match-ups.

Bradshaw began by scoring once and setting up the game-winner in a road victory at French River Thursday before racking up four markers, including the GWG, in a home triumph Friday vs. Cochrane.

With tallies in three straight and eight in his past five games, he has moved into a tie for third in goals among NOJHL rookies with 10, just one off the league lead in that department.

To date, the Voodoos are 5-0 in contests in which Bradshaw has scored and 7-0 in outings in which he has registered a point.

CHASE LEFEBVRE, (F) FRENCH RIVER RAPIDS – Hailing from nearby North Bay, Lefebvre collected eight points in helping French River pick up a pair of wins.

The 17-year-old Lefebvre began his week by getting the Rapids’ lone goal in a narrow defeat against Powassan, then scored once and doled out two assists, that featured one on the game-winner, in a victory at Kirkland Lake before notching his first NOJHL hat trick, and chipping in with a couple of helpers in a home decision against Cochrane.

His impressive offensive outburst saw him jump to the top of the leader board in NOJHL rookie scoring.

Through his first 14 league games, Lefebvre has 10 tallies and as many assists, to pace all first-year skaters. His 20 points also has him in a share for second overall among all current NOJHLers.

KYLER CAMPBELL, (F) GREATER SUDBURY CUBS – Taking to the ice in each of Greater Sudbury’s games last week, Campbell averaged two points-per-game in helping lead the Cubs to back-to-back wins.

The 20-year-old Huntsville, Ont., product opened with an assist in a home decision against the Soo Eagles then scored twice, including notching the decider in overtime, and chipped in with an earlier helper to lift his side to a victory over the Soo Thunderbirds in Sault Ste. Marie.

Campbell’s OT winner was his 14th goal of the season, which currently leads all NOJHL skaters.

He also tops all league players in overall offensive production with 23 points, having only been held off the game sheet in just three occasions, so far this season.
