SUDBURY – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League wishes to extend its heartfelt congratulations to Dan McCourt on being named to be enshrined into the Sudbury Sports Hall of Fame next month.

McCourt, who is currently the Officiating Manager for the National Hockey League, also works closely with the NOJHL as a senior supervisor of officials and the league’s Officiating Program.

Prior to that McCourt had a stellar 25-year career as a linesman in the NHL.

“Dan has been instrumental in the development of the NOJHL Officiating Program, both on and off the ice,” stated league commissioner Robert Mazzuca.

“His contributions, guidance and considerable input has been exceptional in developing our officials and helping the overall improvement of our league as a whole,” added Mazzuca.

“We congratulate Dan and all of the other inductees on this distinguished honour.”

The Sudbury Sports Hall of Fame inductee dinner will be held on June 10.
