CALGARY, Alta. – The Canadian Junior Hockey League, in partnership with the National Hockey League and Hockey Canada, as well as in conjunction with NHL Central Scouting, has announced the four officials who have been selected to officiate the CJHL Prospects Game on Tuesday, January 14, at 7 p.m. ET, at Dave Andreychuk Mountain Arena in Hamilton, Ont.
Chosen to referee the contest, featuring 40 of the top Jr. A draft eligible prospects from across the CJHL, will be Tyson Stewart and Brendan Kane while Tyler Shaw and Shawn Oliver will serve as the linesmen.
Stewart and Oliver presently officiate in the Central Canada Hockey League while Kane and Shaw are members of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League’s official’s pool.
“The CJHL is excited to bring in these four officials from a pair of CJHL leagues across Ontario to showcase their skills in front of the NHL,” offered CJHL director of officiating Brad Lazarowich.
Among those who will be in attendance for the match-up will be NHL officiating manager and head of NHL minor league development, Al Kimmel.
“This opportunity represents an exciting occasion for these four young officials, who have earned the privilege of calling the game,” added Lazarowich, a former long-time NHL linesman.
“The CJHL is committed to putting the best officials on the ice and to continue working at developing their skill set right across the country.”
