SUDBURY, Ont. – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League’s Espanola Paper Kings have announced that forward Jason Galante has committed to attend Morrisville State University in upstate New York and play for their NCAA Division III men’s program.
Hailing from Buffalo, N.Y., the 20-year-old Galante spent the past two seasons skating in the NOJHL with Espanola where he played in 81 contests and collected 50 points on 25 goals and as many assists.
Four of his tallies were game-winners.
“I’m thankful for the opportunity and my time in Espanola, to play in the NOJHL,” said Galante. “I am especially grateful for everyone in the Paper Kings organization, as well as my billet family, for making it my second home in helping prepare for my collegiate journey.”
In discussing the commitment, Espanola head coach Jason Rapcewiz offered: “We thank Jason for his contributions with us over the past two years and look forward to following his progress at the NCAA level.”
The Morrisville Mustangs compete in the 10-school State University of New York Athletic Conference.
