POWASSAN, Ont. – Tyler Peters had a pair of goals, including the game-winner, along with an assist while Garrett Forrest made 51 saves in net as the Powassan Voodoos defeated the Timmins Rock 5-1 Friday evening in Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League play at the Powassan Sportsplex.

Michael Silveri put the Voodoos up by one with the lone tally of the opening period to open the scoring.

Powassan extended their lead to 3-0 after 40 minutes on markers by Peters and Jake Staples.

Peters added another 40 seconds into the final frame to put the home side up by four before Timmins got one back via the power play and Ryan Theriault at 4:26.
