Powassan, Timmins still in CJHL Top 20; Blind River, Rayside-Balfour remain Honourable Mention

CALGARY, Alta. – Skating to a pair of tightly contested 2-1 home ice victories over the weekend sees the Brooks Bandits (AJHL) stay at No. 1 overall in the latest Canadian Junior Hockey League Top 20 Rankings, announced Monday.

Brooks (40-5-1) has come away victorious in 53 consecutive regular season home contests at Centennial Regional Arena to help them maintain top spot in Alberta.

Meanwhile the surging Summerside Western Capitals (MHL) (33-5-0-1) have reeled off nine straight wins and move up to No. 2 in the 131-team CJHL, in the listings compiled each week by an independent scouting source.

Having split their past two meetings with the Bandits, the Sherwood Park Crusaders (AJHL) are now 40-7 on the campaign and are slotted No. 3 in the national Jr. A rankings.

Up to No. 4, you have the Battlefords North Stars (SJHL), who have won six in a row and lead the field in Saskatchewan with a 38-7-2-0 overall record.

Tabbed No. 5 are the Okotoks Oilers (AJHL). They have earned triumphs in 10 consecutive contests and are 38-6-3.

The Carleton Place Canadians (CCHL); Coquitlam Express (BCHL); Powassan Voodoos (NOJHL), Braves de Valleyfield (LHJAAAQ) and the Timmins Rock (NOJHL) are also in the Top 10.
