FRENCH RIVER – Two goals apiece from Tyler Schwindt and Phil Caron helped propel the Timmins Rock to a 6-2 decision over French River Rapids Sunday in a Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League meeting at Noelville Arena.

He then came right back on the next shift with an even strength effort to put the guests up be a pair.

Countering quickly themselves, Connor Loft clicked on the power play for the Rapids at 16:37 to put French River on the board.

The hosts then drew level before the first period was complete when Will Frustaglio notched his 10th tally in the final minute.

Moving on to the middle stanza, Timmins regained the lead 58 seconds in as Stewart Parnell collected his 15th in what also proved his fifth game-winning goal in his past 10 outings.

Up a skater late in the second, Riley Brousseau would score at 18:04 to extend the Rock lead.

In the third, Caron potted his two markers to help round out the scoring.

Parnell and Zach Smith also chipped in with two assists in the decision.

Shots on net finished up 41-32 in favour of the Rock with Vance Meyer earning the win.
