Storm’s Owen Logan commits to NCAA D-III Rivier University

SUDBURY, Ont. – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League’s (NOJHL) Iroquois Falls Storm have announced that defenceman Owen Logan has committed to NCAA Division III Rivier University where he will attend the Nashua, New Hampshire-based school and play for the Raiders men’s hockey program.

Logan, a 20-year-old Wexford, Penn., product joined the Storm in mid-December from the Espanola Paper Kings, going on to play 22 games for Iroquois Falls.

In those matchups, the stay-at-home blueliner collected six assists, with the Storm going 3-1-0-1 in which Logan registered at least one point, and saw him aid on a pair of game-winning goals for his club.

He also helped set-up a trio of tallies in 18 contests on the campaign for the Paper Kings.

In discussing his commitment, Logan said: “I really appreciated my time in Iroquois Falls and am grateful for all the help and support from the organization. They gave me the opportunity to play in important moments and prove that I can be at the next level.”

“After joining us, Owen brought a lot of professionalism to our team,” offered Storm head coach Alex Brisson.

“He bought into our process from day one and has a strong will, along with the discipline, that will carry over to the college level,” added Brisson.

The Rivier Raiders compete in the eight-school Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference.
