Sudbury, Kirkland Lake tabbed in CJHL rankings; Cochrane earns honourable mention

SUDBURY – The Canadian Junior Hockey League announced Monday its initial top 20 rankings for the regular season of the 2014-15 campaign and a trio of Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League teams have earned recognition.

The NOJHL-leading Sudbury Nickel Barons were slotted No. 11 overall while the defending league champion Kirkland Lake Gold Miners are not far behind at No. 13 and the first-year Cochrane Crunch garnered honourable mention status in the weekly listings, which are compiled in conjunction with International Scouting Services.

Sudbury has stormed out to an impressive 7-1-0-1 start to the 2014-15 NOJHL season with Kirkland Lake sitting at 6-1 entering play this week and Cochrane off to a solid 6-2 start.

The top rated club in the CJHL this week is the Trenton Gold Hawks (OJHL) followed by the Winnipeg Blues (MJHL) at No. 2 and the Notre Dame Hounds (SJHL) ranked No. 3.
