KIRKLAND LAKE, Ont. – Tonight’s Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League contest between the Soo Thunderbirds and Kirkland Lake Gold Miners has been suspended following a Carbon Dioxide leak and CO2 alarms going off within the confines of the Joe Mavrinac Community Complex in Kirkland Lake.
The complex was safely evacuated following the CO2 issues and emergency crews are on hand to assess and deal with the situation.
Further details will be provided, including information on the re-start of the game, will be announced once they become finalized.
At the time of the postponement, the game was tied 1-1.
