Thunderbirds, Gold Miners remain in Pointstreak CJHL Top 20 rankings

SUDBURY – A pair of Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League clubs once again were touted in the latest edition of the Canadian Junior Hockey League’s Pointstreak Top 20 weekly rankings announced today.

Both the Soo Thunderbirds and Kirkland Lake Gold Miners earned honours in the listings, which are compiled each week in conjunction with International Scouting Services.

Sault Ste. Marie was tabbed 11th in the country while Kirkland Lake was slotted in 12th in the rankings among the 129-team CJHL.

The Thunderbirds boast the best winning percentage in the NOJHL at .796 having picked up 43 points in 27 games played on a 20-4-0-3 overall record.

As for the Gold Miners they sport a .776 win mark having gone 22-6-0-1 in 29 outings and registering 45 points.

There was no change this week in the rankings for the top three teams in the CJHL as the Portage Terriers (MJHL), Camrose Kodiaks (AJHL) and Penticton Vees (BCHL) remain first, second and third respectively.
