IROQUOIS FALLS, Ont. – Staying hot, the Timmins Rock continued their winning ways by downing the Iroquois Falls Storm 4-1 Saturday in a match-up on the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League slate at Jus Jordan Arena.

After some early pressure by Iroquois Falls, Timmins came back to take the lead 11:51 into the opening frame when Brant Romaniak wired a wrister from a sharp angle by Justin Sullivan to give him points in eight straight outings.

Heading to the second period, the Rock extended their lead three minutes in as Reece Liu tucked in a loose puck while parked to the right of Sullivan.

Kaeden McArthur then made it 3-0 as he raced in on a breakaway and roofed a shot into the top right corner to give him a tally for a second straight night.

Action in the third period saw Timmins connect early when Clark Scaddan took a Jack Kelly pass then proceeded to rip it over the shoulder of Sullivan at 1:01.

The Storm eventually dashed the shutout bid of the Rock’s Dryden Riley with under five minutes to go on a power play marker from Tibor Nemeth.

In collecting his first tally in the NOJHL, the extra-man effort saw Nemeth work a give-and-go with Jordan Mayo, then sizzle a shot from the high slot off iron and in.

That proved to be the evening’s final goal as Timmins skated away with the road victory to remain unbeaten in each of their past six originally scheduled contests.
