The Soo Thunderbirds scored 4 times in the first period and cruised to a 7-3 win over the North Bay Jr. Trappers in a battle for first in the NOJHL.
Brett Ritchie led the T-Birds offence with 3 goals.
Cole Klippenstein scored twice while Tait Seguin added a single in the loss as the Trappers fall 2 points behind the T-Birds for top spot in the NOJHL.
The Trappers are on the road to Elliot Lake, Sault Ste. Marie and Blind River next weekend.
The Trappers next home game is Sunday, January 27th when they host the Abitibi Eskimos. Game time is 2 pm at Memorial Gardens.
