Trio of NOJHL clubs among CJHL winning percentage leaders
SUDBURY – Taking a look at the top clubs in the Canadian Junior Hockey League, in terms of winning percentage, a trio of Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League squads are currently among the top 20 in the 129-team CJHL.
The top rated NOJHL side in winning percentage are the surging Soo Thunderbirds.
Winners of nine consecutive games, the 11-2 Thunderbirds boast the 10th-best win mark in the CJHL at .846.
Meanwhile the defending NOJHL champion Kirkland Lake Gold Miners, who are 11-3, sit 15th nationally with a .786 winning percentage.
The first-year Elliot Lake Wildcats is the third NOJHL side in this category as they are tied for 18th in the country at .750 having gone 9-3 in their first 12 outings of the season.
The top three teams in CJHL winning percentage are the unbeaten 14-0 Portage Terriers (MJHL), the Notre Dame Hounds (SJHL) at .944 and the Woodstock Slammers (MHL) at .917.
