Voodoos Free Agent Camp wrap-up

POWASSAN — The Powassan Voodoos wrapped up a successful weekend of hockey as the new NOJHL expansion franchise iced its first ever Free Agent Camp at Pete Palangio arena in North Bay on the weekend.

A total of 30 prospects took to the ice during the 3 ice sessions on Saturday and Sunday.

“Overall, it was a great weekend,” noted Voodoos GM/VP of Operations Chris Dawson.

“We were thrilled to see the great amount of local talent on the ice.  We needed a camp like this to help stock our roster for the upcoming season.  There were some pleasant surprises and we will be announcing some signings throughout the week,” added Dawson.

It was also the first time on the ice for Voodoos head coach Scott Wray.

“We’re far from where we want to be, but we took a big step in the right direction with this camp, it went very well,” stated head coach Scott Wray.

“We didn’t end our search, that’s for sure, but at the same time we found a few guys that we’re very happy with and I’m excited with the way we’re heading.
Their Powassan Voodoos Main Camp begins August 22nd in Powassan.
