Edmundston Blizzard (MHL) new No. 1 in CJHL Top 20 rankings
TORONTO – As November nears an end, the Edmundston Blizzard (MHL) are the new No. 1 in the Canadian Junior Hockey League Top 20 Rankings – Fuelled by Gatorade, released Monday.
The front-runners in the Maritime Hockey League, the Blizzard have surged out to a 20-3-1-0 run to date, while having only allowed a MHL-low 64 goals-against.
Moving up to No. 2 in the listings, which are compiled by an independent scouting service, are the surging Trenton Golden Hawks (OJHL).
Victorious in 10 straight, the Golden Hawks have gone 21-3-1-0 overall in pacing the Ontario Junior Hockey League in terms of winning percentage at .860.
At No. 3 in the 118-team CJHL are the Rockland Nationals (CCHL).
Despite a pair of setbacks, in three outings, last week, Rockland still tops the Central Canada Hockey League table with a mark of 19-3-1-0.
Meanwhile, the Leamington Flyers (OJHL) are tabbed No. 4 overall.
Leamington presently leads the OJHL in points at 51, going 24-3-2-1 in their first 30 outings on the season.
Wrapping up the Top 5 are the Grande Prairie Storm (AJHL).
Despite having played the second-fewest games in the Alberta Junior Hockey League to date, Grande Prairie sits tied for first in points with 34, sporting a record of 16-3-1-1.
