Cubs’ Walker named 2026 NOJHL Playoff MVP

TIMMINS, Ont. – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League announced Wednesday that Greater Sudbury Cubs forward Mason Walker has been named its Most Valuable Player for the 2026 playoffs.

In 12 postseason contests for the Cubs, the 17-year-old Sudbury product amassed 27 points on nine goals and 18 assists to help his team win the Copeland Cup – McNamara Trophy NOJHL championship.

This included a point streak of 10 straight outings to commence the playoffs for his side as well as supplying seven multi-point efforts.

Walker and the Cubs will now move on to represent the NOJHL at the 2026 Centennial Cup, presented by Tim Hortons, May 7-17, in Summerside, P.E.I.
