ESPANOLA, Ont. – The Espanola Paper Kings of the Northern Ontario Junior A Hockey League announced Friday that it has named Marc Gagnon as its general manager.

Boasting a wealth of experience, at multiple levels of junior hockey, Gagnon joins the Paper Kings from the Huntsville Otters Jr. C program where he served as their head coach and GM over the past five seasons.

Prior to that, he was behind the bench in the NOJHL, where he was an assistant coach with the Powasson Voodoos, including helping the win a league championship back during the 2016-17 campaign.

“Marc’s dedication, persistence and attention to detail will be greatly embraced by the entire Espanola organization,” stated Paper Kings president and head coach Jason Rapcewicz. “I’m truly looking forward to working with him.”

“We’d also like to thank the Huntsville Otters for their support of Marc, in advancing to the next level, in his new role,” added Rapcewicz.

“We want to maintain a strong relationship with Huntsville and hope to be able to work with them on a regular basis moving forward.”

“I’m extremely excited and pumped to be joining the Espanola Paper Kings organization,” stated Gagnon. I cannot wait to see where this upcoming season takes us.”

He went on to add: “I would like to thank the Huntsville Otters for their time and dedication to bettering the team over the last five years. I’d especially like to acknowledge the fantastic board members and everyone who contributed to the team as support staff. It was a great experience and was yet another stepping-stone in my hockey career.”
