NOJHL announces Eastlink TV 3 Stars of the Week
SUDBURY – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League announced Monday that Abitibi Eskimos forwards Brenden Locke and Brady Clouthier along with Elliot Lake Wildcats goaltender Tristan Hanna have been named the Eastlink TV 3 Stars of the week for the period ending Feb. 15.
BRENDEN LOCKE, (F) – ABITIBI ESKIMOS – In two games over the weekend the 17-year-old Iroquois Falls product amassed six points helping Abitibi pickup three of four points.
Locke began be scoring once and setting up three others in a 9-4 road triumph at Powassan Saturday.
Sunday afternoon he tacked on two more tallies to reach the 35-goal plateau on the season as the Eskimos rallied to force overtime before eventually falling 4-3 in the second extra session at Mattawa.
On the campaign Locke has 70 points and sits fourth overall in league offensive production.
BRADY CLOUTHIER, (F) – ABITIBI ESKIMOS – The Eskimos veteran forward registered six assists during Abitibi’s two-game road trip.
In his last season of Jr. A hockey, the Arnprior, Ont., native doled out five helpers in the win in Powassan Saturday and added another in Sunday’s double OT setback vs. Mattawa.
Clouthier’s 81 points lead his club and also place him third in NOJHL scoring and he shares the league-lead in assists with 44.
So far this season he has had 11 games in which he recorded three or more points in a game, including the nine he racked up against the Voodoos back in mid-December.
TRISTAN HANNA, (G) ELLIOT LAKE WILDCATS – The Wildcats netminder, who toils for his hometown team of Elliot Lake, posted his first NOJHL shutout Saturday in a victory at Blind River.
Having just turned 19 last week, Hanna cleared aside all 24 shots he faced in earning the decision.
Making the most of his appearances so far this season Hanna has gone 4-0 with a 1.00 goals-against average and a .948 save percentage for the Wildcats.
