SUDBURY, Ont. – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League announced Monday that Lucas Signoretti, (F) Espanola Paper Kings; Alex Little, (D) Powassan Voodoos and Caleb Minns, (F) Blind River Beavers have been named its Eastlink TV 3 Stars of the Week, for the period ending February 5.
LUCAS SIGNORETTI, (F) ESPANOLA PAPER KINGS – Amassing a league-high 10 points during the time frame helped Signoretti take over the NOJHL-lead in point-per-game average at 1.89.
The six goals the 18-year-old from Kinborn, Ont., provided last week also topped all skaters.
Meanwhile, since joining Espanola back in mid-October, Signoretti’s 27 tallies and 53 points are the most of any player in the NOJHL.
ALEX LITTLE, (D) POWASSAN VOODOOS – Providing a big boost on the back end for the Voodoos, Little was solid both offensively and defensively in a trio of Powassan triumphs.
Among the contributions made by the 19-year-old Minden, Ont., product was notching two goals, including a game-winner, and doling out five helpers, to give him 50 assists in his first 89 league outings.
Now playing at over a point-per-game clip this season for the Voodoos, Little currently sits second in NOJHL scoring among defencemen with 43, while his 12 markers presently pace all league blueliners.
CALEB MINNS, (F) BLIND RIVER BEAVERS – The on-ice efforts on Minns helped Blind River take a pair of divisional contests last week and reach the 30-win plateau on the season.
In his final season of Jr. A hockey, the veteran forward from Baxter, Ont., scored three times for the Beavers, in the two victories, while picking up a pair of assists, which both came on the game-winners against the Thunderbirds and Red Wings.
Entering play this week riding a nine-game point streak, Minns has moved into third spot in NOJHL scoring with 59 points, including 24 goals.
