SUDBURY, Ont. – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL) announced Monday that the forward trio of Cameron Menard (Espanola Paper Kings); Daks Klinkhammer (Greater Sudbury Cubs) and Kaeden McArthur (Timmins Rock) have been named its Rogers 3 Stars of the Week for the period ending November 2.
Cameron Menard, (F) Espanola Paper Kings – In a pair of Espanola victories over the weekend, the Paper Kings’ captain scored four times and added an assist for a five-point run.
The 19-year-old winger from West Carleton, Ont., began by registering his fourth career NOJHL hat trick in a home-ice win over French River Friday, then followed that up with another marker and a helper in a successful road result at the Soo Thunderbirds Sunday.
Coming out of the Pembroke Lumber Kings minor hockey system, Menard leads the league in goals with 18 and has scored at least once in 15 of 18 games played this season, including in 10 straight at one point.
Daks Klinkhammer, (F) Greater Sudbury Cubs – Aiding in the Cubs’ current run of 7-0-1-0, Klinkhammer wrapped up the time frame with five points in two Greater Sudbury wins.
Hailing from Ajax, Ont., the 20-year-old scored in both games he played, notching three in total, including a game-winner, and helped contribute on two more tallies for his side in triumphs over the Thunderbirds and Rapids.
Playing in the Ajax/Pickering Raiders AAA program previously, Klinkhammer sits tied for sixth in NOJHL scoring with 30 points and has only been held off the game sheet twice in 18 outings on the campaign.
Kaeden McArthur, (F) Timmins Rock – A veteran of 135 league contests, McArthur maintained his over a point-per-game pace with four in decisions versus Hearst and Kirkland Lake last week.
Skating for his hometown side, the 20-year-old notched three markers and aided on one more for the Rock in results over Hearst and Kirkland Lake to give him 21 points in his first 13 match-ups of the year.
Competing in both the Okanagan Hockey Ontario and the Timmins minor hockey ranks before his arrival in the league, McArthur enters play this week just three points shy of 150 in his NOJHL career.
