SUDBURY, Ont. – Another Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League club with optimistic expectations heading into the 2026-27 season are the Iroquois Falls Storm.
With NOJHL alumnus Alex Brisson back at the helm behind the Storm bench for another campaign, his squad will aim to improve on the ice, both offensively and defensively, following a 10th place finish last season.
Here’s a look at three returning players the team will be looking at to help lead the way during the year, as well as a three-pack of newcomers, who will aim to impress the hometown faithful at Jus Jordan Arena and throughout the NOJHL:

PLAYER: Alexandre St. Pierre, F
DOB: 08/03/2007
HOMETOWN: Honey Harbour, Ont.,
Coaches’ comments: “A veteran of over 100 NOJHL games, Alexandre is back for his third year with the Storm and second as captain after setting personal career highs in goals, assists and points. He is the leader of this team. His speed, hard work and determination are qualities we are building this team around.”
PLAYER: Simon Lemieux, F
DOB: 08/31/2006
HOMETOWN: Cumberland, Ont.
Coaches’ comments: “The speedster is entering his second season with Iroquois Falls. He will be counted on to be a play driver offensively. His combination of skill and determination will make him a player to notice every night.”
PLAYER: Ryan McCoy, D
DOB: 07/18/2006
HOMETOWN: Fenelon Falls, Ont.
Coaches’ comments: “Ryan returns for his second season in Iroquois Falls. His defensive play and physicality bring a strong presence on the back end. Ryan is not a fun player to play against, and we will be counting on him to help shut opponents down.

PLAYER: Felix Tremblay, F
DOB: 02/05/2007
HOMETOWN: La Malbaie, Que.
Coaches’ comments: “Felix was acquired via Miramichi of the Maritime Hockey League. A QMJHL draft pick, he brings a high level of compete and skill to the roster.”
PLAYER: Brady Walker, D
DOB: 08/19/2008
HOMETOWN: Tilbury, Ont.
Coaches’ comments: “Brady comes from the Biosteel Academy program. His 200-foot game makes him an exciting prospect this season. He’s a hard worker, who is not afraid to sacrifice himself to make a play. A real culture driver.”
PLAYER: Jason Cyr, F
DOB: 09/01/2006
HOMETOWN: Rockland, Ont.
Coaches’ comments: “Jason joins the club from the Ottawa Jr. Canadiens of the EOJHL. He brings a wealth of junior hockey experience. He is a team first guy that accepts any role given to him. His compete level and speed are attributes we are excited to see in a Storm jersey this season.”
