IROQUOIS FALLS, Ont. – Receiving multi-point nights from several players, the Espanola Paper Kings went on to drop the Iroquois Falls Storm 6-2 Saturday to close out the October portion of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League schedule in a contest held at Jus Jordan Arena.

It was the visiting Paper Kings who opened the scoring nearly 11 minutes into the first period, when Emerson De Giacomo came out from behind the net and put the puck in front where a waiting Cain Savage put it in past Storm starter Keenan Connely.

More from Espanola late in the session, saw De Giacomo motor down the right wing and fire a feed toward the target that a hard-charging Carter Makasoff steered into the net.

Action in the second stanza saw De Giacomo collect his third point on the night when he forced a turnover then raced up ice to join Savage who returned a pass that he took to his right and tucked at 11:30.

Iroquois Falls got one back a couple of shifts later when Felix Tremblay knocked in a bouncing puck that came out from the end boards into the open side on Paper Kings goalkeeper Cameron Millar.

Pushing the pace, the Storm then pulled to within one, via the power play, when Arthur Seamus McCown flew into the Espanola zone with speed and wired a shot through Millar at 17:40.

Action in the third saw the visitors go back up by two five minutes in after Carter Drigo roofed a short-side shot from a tight angle while his side was up a skater.

More from De Giacomo helped secure the road victory as he clicked on a power play when he poked in the leftovers off a Drigo attempt.

Espanola then handled an extended Iroquois Falls man advantage late, that included their goaltender out for an extra attacker, before the Storm inadvertently put one into their own net before time expired on a goal that was credited to Savage to round out the scoring.
