Thunderbirds 9th, Gold Miners 14th in Pointstreak CJHL Top 20 rankings

SUDBURY – The Canadian Junior Hockey League announced its Pointstreak Top 20 weekly rankings Monday and the Soo Thunderbirds and Kirkland Lake Gold Miners once again both garnered recognition.

Surging Sault Ste. Marie currently holds a one point lead on Kirkland Lake in the overall NOJHL standings.

The Thunderbirds top the league’s West Division with a 18-2-0-2 record and 38 points while also holding one game in hand on the Gold Miners, who sit with 37 points and lead the NOJHL East with a 18-4-0-1 mark.

There was no change in the top three clubs in the CJHL this week.

The 2015 RBC Cup host Portage Terriers (MJHL) remain the No. 1 team, followed by the Carleton Place Canadian (CCHL) and Penticton Vees (BCHL), who sit second and third respectively.
