Thunderbirds Alumni Spotlight: Matt Caria
SAULT STE. MARIE – The Soo Thunderbirds of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League announced the first of a number of alumni features on former players who starred for the organization in previous years.
The first of these profiles produced by the club is on former Thunderbirds standout Matt Caria.
Caria starred for his hometown Sault Ste. Marie side in his one season with the T-Birds amassing 70 points in just 48 games played during the 2004-05 campaign scoring 31 times while doling out 39 assists.
In the playoffs that season he added another dozen tallies and set-up 11 others.
After a successful CIS career at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Caria is now in his second year as a professional with the Kalamazoo Wings of the ECHL.
