ELLIOT LAKE, Ont. – Riding the strength of Felix Tremblay’s initial Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League hat trick, the Iroquois Falls went on to down the Elliot Lake Vikings 6-2 in contest held Friday at Rogers Arena.

It was the visiting Storm who began the night’s scoring nearly five minutes into the proceedings when Tremblay entered the Vikings zone on his own and while moving through the right circle fired a low shot that found the far corner in eluding goaltender Jayden Pierre.

More from Tremblay and Iroquois Falls saw him make it 2-0 at 11:32 as he quickly swatted in a backhand put through the crease from Arthur Seamus-McCown, who had darted into the Elliot Lake zone with pace along the left wing.

Remaining that way into the middle stanza, the Storm extended their cushion six and a half minutes in as Simon Lemieux intercepted a Vikings’ back pass that allowed him to race in alone while his club was shorthanded and fire a shot off the glove of Pierre and bounce back into the net.

They then went up by four thanks to Tremblay’s third of the night as he put one in from distance through a maze of players.

Elliot Lake eventually solved Iroquois Falls goalkeeper Caleb Shuker in the final moments of the second on a late power play when Toby Johnson collected his first NOJHL goal by knocking in a rebound off a Dane Skillings point shot at 19:51.

Adding some insurance four minutes into the third, the Storm’s Noah Logan picked up his initial NOJHL marker by taking a Brady Walker feed from up top and while using a screen lifted his attempt into the top right hand corner.

Getting that back with 8:22 to go, a Skillings’ blast hit off the skate of teammate Mikey Brundage and found its way in for his first league goal.

Iroquois Falls eventually secured the road win when Walker banked a shot off the boards from deep in his own end that sailed down the ice into an empty net to road out the scoring.
