Blind River’s Serre named CJHL’s 3rd Star for November

CALGARY, Alta. – The Canadian Junior Hockey League announced today that goaltender Clay Stevenson of the Coquitlam Express (BCHL), along with forwards Kallum Muirhead of Summerside Western Capitals (MHL) and Caleb Serre of the Blind River Beavers (NOJHL) have been named its Gongshow Gear 3 Stars of the Month for November.

1ST STAR: CLAY STEVENSON, (G) COQUITLAM EXPRESS (BCHL) – The 20-year-old netminder from Chilliwack, B.C. was a perfect 8-0 in November, finishing with a solid 1.35 goals-against average along with a stingy .948 save percentage and two shutouts.

Stevenson’s overall efforts between the pipes sees him currently leading all BCHL goaltenders in wins with 22 while his 1.45 average tops all league stoppers in helping guide the Express to first place in the overall BCHL standings.

He’s also just off the BCHL lead in save percentage at .944 and is tied for third in shutouts with three.

In his third campaign, Stevenson is 22-2-0-0 for Coquitlam in 2019-20 while earlier committing to Dartmouth College (ECAC) on NCAA Division I scholarship.

2ND STAR: KALLUM MUIRHEAD, (F) SUMMERSIDE WESTERN CAPITALS (MHL) – The Maritime Hockey League’s First Star of the Month for November paced all MHL players in offensive production with 26 points on nine goals and a league-best 17 assists.

The 20-year-old from Charlottetown, P.E.I., registered eight multi-point performances in November for Summerside and has 18 in total so far this season.

Muirhead is currently playing at nearly a two-point per-game pace for the Western Capitals with 58 in 30 outings on 23 tallies and 35 assists.

His assist totals lead all MHL skaters and he sits second in overall league scoring.

A veteran of 152 MHL regular season contests, Muirhead has racked up 204 points in his Jr. A career, accumulating 100 goals while helping set-up 104 others.

3RD STAR: CALEB SERRE, (F) BLIND RIVER BEAVERS (NOJHL) – Yet another productive month for the 20-year-old Blind River captain saw him etch his name on the game sheet in 11 of the 12 games the Beavers played in November.

This included Serre scoring 10 times, which featured a trio of game-winning goals, while also dishing out 13 assists during the frame helping his home town side hold down a share of first place, points wise, in the overall NOJHL standings.

Among his accomplishments was a personal single-game-high seven points in a triumph over the East Division-leading Powassan Voodoos.

Serre enters the New Year riding an 11-game point streak and has only been held off the scoreboard on three occasions in 37 match-ups on the year.

He presently tops all NOJHL skaters in goals (34), assists (45), points (79), power play tallies (15) and game-winning goals (8).

In 192 career NOJHL contests, Serre has produced 235 points on 104 markers and 134 helpers.
