TORONTO – As play nears mid-November, the Canadian Junior Hockey League features many players who have put up solid numbers so far this season.
Topping the CJHL’s scoring leaders list is Dryden GM Ice Dogs (SIJHL) forward McLaren Paulsen.
The 20-year-old from Humboldt, Sask., has collected 43 points in 20 outings for the SIJHL-leading GM Ice Dogs on 19 markers and 24 helpers.
Right behind him is Colton Smith of the Leamington Flyers (OJHL).
Smith who hails from Windsor, Ont., presently paces the OJHL in offensive production with 42 points, including a CJHL-best 27 goals.
Of his tally-total, 13 have come on the power play, which also leads the CJHL.
Sitting third nationally in scoring is another forward in Tristan Dussault of the Condors du Cégep Beauce-Appalaches (LHJAAAQ).
The 20-year-old Lac-Beauport, Que., product has racked up 39 points in 20 contests for the Condors with 14 goals and a LHJAAAQ-high 25 assists.
Among defencemen, the top two point-getters there are blueliners Jesse Carrière, who skates for the Braves de Valleyfield (LHJAAAQ) and the Pembroke Lumber Kings (CCHL), who have amassed 31 points apiece to date.
