NOJHL names its Eastlink TV 3 Stars of the Week

SUDBURY, Ont. – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL) announced Monday that forward Lucas Signoretti (Espanola Paper Kings); defenceman Felix Cadieux-Fredette (Timmins Rock) and goaltender Matthew Vahramian (Elliot Lake Vikings) have been named its Eastlink TV 3 Stars of the Week for the period ending October 22.

LUCAS SIGNORETTI, (F) ESPANOLA PAPER KINGS: Averaging close to two points-per-game so far this season, the skilled Espanola centre tacked on six more to his totals last week, helping lead the Paper Kings to a pair of road victories.

The 19-year-old Kinborn, Ont., product began by tallying twice and setting up two others in a triumph at Iroquois Falls, then had a goal, and an assist, as Espanola picked up a win in Kirkland Lake.

Signoretti has already provided 10 multi-point outings on the campaign, with the Paper Kings having gone 10-0-0-0 in those contests.

FELIX CADIEUX-FREDETTE, (D) TIMMINS ROCK:
The Timmins captain was solid at both ends of the ice during the time frame, helping the Rock go 3-0 during the time frame.

In all the 19-year-old Cadieux-Fredette, who hails from Ottawa, dished out five assists in wins over Hearst, Powassan and Kirkland Lake, picking up helpers on a late tying-tally, one on a game-winner, along with an insurance marker, while only being on the ice for one-goal-against.

Now in his fourth NOJHL season with Timmins, he has been part of 105 victories in his 131 league games with the Rock, and also has 66 points to his credit from the back-end.

MATTHEW VAHRAMIAN, (G) ELLIOT LAKE VIKINGS: The Elliot Lake rookie netminder stood tall in his club’s lone match-up of the week, making 50-plus saves in a win over Greater Sudbury, in Espanola Friday night.

With the Vikings home venue, Centennial Arena, remaining closed due to structural issues, he was credited with a .964 save percentage in the neutral site affair.

The 17-year-old goalkeeper who calls South Bruce Peninsula, Ont., home after being born in Rochester, N.Y., has had three straight starts with a save mark of .921, or higher, while Vahramian’s overall save percentage of .917 ties him for the league lead, among first-year stoppers.
